Drake & The Weeknd “Might Have Some New Shit Coming”

Looks like Drake and Abel are finally back at it! During his performance at the Governors Ball in NYC, Drizzy let us in on some possible OVOXO collaborations coming down the pike.

From the Billboard article:

Throughout his performance, Drake teased the crowd with hints of an “OVO in New York,” referencing his annual festival, which traditionally brings out a slew of special guests. Unfortunately, there were none to be seen, save for one hint of a further collaboration with The Weeknd. “We might have some new shit coming,” said Drake during “Crew Love.”

“The Hills” Climbs To #1 On Billboard #Trending140 Chart

In just one day, “The Hills” become a viral hit, reaching 3 million views on YouTube and the #2 spot on the iTunes homepage. Billboard has also placed it at the #1 spot on their #Trending140 chart of the most popular songs on social networks.

Congrats Abel! Let’s get the single to #1 on iTunes!

The Weeknd forms “strategic partnership” with Universal Republic

It’s official…The Weeknd has gone major. It was announced today that Abel and his XO movement inked a deal partnership with Universal Republic. The first release will be Trilogy, a compilation of the Balloons mixtapes that will also feature new a few bonus tracks.

The lead single will be Wicked Games, which you can expect to hit iTunes soon.

Oh yeah…and Trilogy drops November 13! Congrats, my friends….xo.

The Weeknd announces second leg of North American tour

He’s baaaaaaaaack!

In addition to his five existing show dates with Florence and The Machine, Abel will be making some more of his own show money this Fall by embarking on yet another tour across North America, revisiting many of the cities he hit during the last tour as well as a few new ones.

All tickets will be going on sale this Friday morning (at the times specified below), so if the last tour was any indication, I would set your alarm clocks now!

The Weeknd wins three Stylus Awards

Earlier this evening, the 2012 Stylus Awards took place in Toronto. The Weeknd won THREE awards tonight: Mixtape of the Year for House of Balloons, Canadian R&B Single of the Year for High For This, and Fan Choice Artist Of The Year (thanks for voting, btw!).

@lamarXO and @HyghlyXO from the XO art collective were also nominated tonight for Video Of The Year for directing Drizzy’s Headlines video. Additionally, Abel’s go-to producer @ILLANGELO was nominated for Canadian Producer of the Year for his work on Crew Love.

We’ve got a few more award shows right down the road. Prepare for takeoff, crew.
